On January 1 the 2014 U.S. Men’s Olympic Hockey roster was announced following the Winter Classic. This team will travel to Sochi, Russia and take on the world’s best starting Feb. 12.

Ann Arbor Players in the Olympics

Chuck It Junk Removal would like to congratulate Ann Arbor locals Cam Fowler and Ryan Kesler for making the 2014 U.S. Men’s Olympic Hockey Team. Fowler is from Farmington Hills, MI and currently plays D for the Anaheim Ducks. Kesler is from Livonia, MI and plays F for the Vancouver Canucks. Honorable mention to G Ryan Miller of the Buffalo Sabres from East Lansing, MI.

American hockey has come a long way when it comes to competing in the international spotlight. No longer is a pulse and a pair of skates the only requirements for inclusion on the roster. The team, and subsequently the selection process, has become much more competitive. No hockey fan has forgotten the sour taste left after the 2010 silver medal.

Who is NOT on the team?

Whenever a team like this is selected, there are always discussions about who should have and who should not have been chosen. This team is no different. The two players not selected that seem to be garnering the most attention are Bobby Ryan and Jack Johnson. Both of whom were on the 2010 team.
What are your thoughts? Are you happy with the 2014 roster? What changes would you make?
