Have fun helping neighbors with some Spring cleaning in Ypsilanti with the annual event, Ypsilanti Proud – May 20, 2017.

 

What Is Ypsilanti Proud?

Formerly Ypsilanti PRIDE Day, Ypsilanti Proud engages the whole community, cultivating community pride and local business growth by creating a clean and welcoming environment. Leadership Ypsilanti, an experiential learning program sponsored by the Ann Arbor / Ypsilanti Regional Chamber, started Ypsilanti PRIDE in 1995 which is now sponsored by the A2Y Chamber Foundation.

Saturday, May 20th

9:00am-2:00pm

Clean-up:  9:00am-12:00pm

Picnic:  12:00pm-2:00pm

This year Ypsilanti needs extra help to fund a safety fence for a baseball diamond at Parkridge Park.

Hundreds of volunteers will be beautifying the Ypsilanti community by picking up litter, planting flowers, painting, and more. Afterward, volunteers are treated to lunch and entertainment at the Post-Event Celebration.

Ypsilanti PRIDE Goals

For the past few years, the Ypsilanti Proud committee has focused on a signature project for the event and is continuing improvements to the  Parkridge Park baseball diamond, creating a safe and playable place for all children and provide the opportunity to hold organized league games.

To host those games, A2Y Chamber is currently working on finalizing installation of a safety fence down the first base and third base lines, to be installed on May 20 for Ypsilanti Proud.  Many community organizations are helping fund the project but a few more are needed.
